Beaches in Busan - Coastal walk from Haeundae Beach to Songjeong Beach
Haeundae Beach is the largest and most famous beach in Busan, and it is also the most upmarket surrounded by luxury hotels and high-end restaurants. From here, you can walk along a scenic coastal route to Songjeong Beach, a more laid-back and less developed area popular with surfers. (Beaches from north to south: Songjeong Beach and Haeundae Beach, Gwangalli Beach, Songdo Beach, and Dadaepo Beach.) An alternative to walking is the Haeundae Beach Train, which operates along the coastline from Mipo Station near Haeundae Beach to Songjeong Station, covering a distance of approximately 4.8 kilometers. Additionally, the Haeundae Sky Capsule is a monorail system that runs between Mipo and Cheongsapo stations, elevated 7 to 10 meters above the ground. Each capsule accommodates up to four people and travels at a speed of 4 km/h, about the same as if you walk (or even less). Along the coastal walk, you'll encounter two of Busan's so-called skywalks: the Daritdol Skywalk and the Haewol Skywalk. These elevated platforms extend over the sea, offering panoramic views of the coastline. If you're up for more walking, you can reach Haedong Yonggungsa Temple from Songjeong Beach in about half an hour. For your return to the city, Songjeong Station is approximately a 15-minute walk from the beach.
