Beaches in Busan - Songdo Beach and a coastal walk to Amnam Park

Songdo Beach is a short walk from the Jung-gu district, so if you don't want the hassle of finding the right bus, you can walk there from Jagalchi subway station in about half an hour. First, you'll pass the outer fish market and some colourful hillside neighbourhoods that look similar to Gamcheon Culture Village. Then you'll reach Namhang Bridge, where you can enjoy a nice view of the port around Jagalchi Market on one side and Amnam Park on the other, with the cable car line heading there. A few minutes from here, you'll arrive at the cable car station and the Songdo Cloud Trails, one of Busan's so-called skywalks, offering a nice view of Songdo Beach.

It is a beautiful, sandy beach that seems to cater to families and offers a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. (Beaches from north to south: Songjeong Beach and Haeundae BeachGwangalli Beach, Songdo Beach, and Dadaepo Beach.) From the other end of Songdo Beach, you can walk to Amnam Park in about half an hour, where another skywalk, the Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge, is located. The other end of the cable car line is also here, featuring the Songdo Sky Park, an amusement park for children. While these artificial tourist attractions may not appeal to everyone, the coastal walk is delightful, with great views.

There used to be a trail at the base of the cliffs, but it is currently closed. However, the walk along the higher road is also enjoyable, shaded by trees and punctuated with occasional openings that offer views of the bay. The vistas from the Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge are particularly impressive, and you can explore Amnam Park a little bit. On your way back, you can retrace your route, take the cable car, or catch a bus back to the Jung-gu district.
