Hiroshima viewpoints - Hijiyama Park
At the eastern end of the Peace Boulevard, across the Tsurumi Bridge, stands a small hill known as Hijiyama offering a few attractions and viewpoints. Among the attractions is what I call the "Memorial of Hypocrisy", which, as far as I'm concerned, is a disgrace in a city that is a symbol of global peace aspirations. Otherwise Hijiyama Park is a pleasant place and you get some nice views of Hiroshima.

Tsurumi Bridge (1) and the view of Hijiyama.
There is a shortcut that leads from the bridge to the Sculpture Hill (4), but it's better to start at the nearby Tamonin Buddhist Temple.
The river side and the Tamonin Temple (2).
Ray Sanyo Buntoku-den Memorial Hall (3).
The shortcut from the bridge and the road from the Memorial Hall meet at the Sculpture Hill (4).
Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art (5).
Moore Square (6) with The Arch and a viewpoint.
A bridge leads to Entrance Square (9) that can also be reached by the Hijiyama Skywalk, which is basically just an escalator.
Little above Entrance Square is a viewpoint and the "Memorial of Hypocrisy" (10). I don't know much about Japan's Prime Minister, but all the others are warmongering hypocrites who should be in prison!
On the way to the Fujimidai Observatory Deck, a cemetery (11) offers a view of the city.
Fujimidai Observatory Deck (12). From here, you could descend to the river.
Radiation Effects Research Foundation (13).
Army Cemetery (14) with tombs of Japanese and foreign solders. It is not marked as a viewpoint, but in fact it offers nice panorama of Hiroshima and the bay. You also get a good view of Ogonzan hill in the distance.
Sakura Square (15) may be beautiful during flowering, but otherwise there is nothing of interest there.
Shiomidai Observatory Deck (16) is marked as a viewpoint, but you can't see anything from there. You could descend to the city though, and carry on to the Ogonzan viewpoint.
