A short walk over a hillside, to a lake and then the top of a quarry. I didn't descend all the way down, have been there before, only halfway and then took a road back to Deiniolen (Llanbabs).

Images of a few walks around the village of Deiniolen, locally known in the Welsh language as Llanbabs, visiting other places, namely Bethesda, Bangor and Llanberis. There is a great view from a local hill of the lake and the highest peak of Wales, Snowdon, as well as the village and Astralship. 

The view from Astralship With one of the two weekly Wizz Air direct flights from Budapest I arrived in Liverpool, England, from where I took the first train. I had a bus ticket but that was to depart in the evening, I thought the train is a better option. I actually wanted to book a ticket online for the train but the booking page of the Arriva Wales's website didn't work. (That's why I booked the coach.) But it turned out the ticket from the ticket office (from a living and helpful human) was cheaper than online (£29 instead of £37), plus the travel was also faster (1.5 hrs instead of 2.5 hrs) although this too included a change at Chester. Then, from Bangor, I took a taxi instead of trying to find a local bus as the driver offered a good price, £20 to the village of Deiniolen (Llanbabs). Originally posted on April 9, 2017 So it's Wales again... this time mostly in the north, at the foot of Snowdon, the highest mountain in England and Wales. Still a bit of snow up there. Almost a week aboard the "Astral Ship", a chapel turned into a co-working space(craft), waiting for the sun to come out, which only did a few times for short periods. Strange (coincidental ?) connections to Engedi (Ein Gedi) in the Holy Land, the Welsh diaspora in Patagonia, the psychadelic scene in Hungary, and even Habiba organic farm in Sinai. I shall return, god willing, just need a bigger bag so I can pack more warm and waterproof clothes. Now it's back to Mid-Wales, the land of the rolling hills, for a quick visit. The sun is shining, the pastures are full of new-born lambs, and the volunteers on the farm are as cheerful and enthusiastic as ever. Hwyl fawr Caerdydd, hwyl fawr Cymru! In other words, goodbye Cardiff, goodby Wales!

Before I was leaving Wales, we attempted to climb Cadair Idris... but the peak was lost in the clouds and we only went up to the lake. But not disappointed - next time, fingers crossed.

It doesn't get too cold too often in Mid Wales, people say, but the November of 2016 was freezing. Very beautiful at the same time, that's also true.

Llanidloes is a small town in Wales, and it is a Welsh name which is quite difficult to pronunciate for those not familiar with the language. My reason to visit this place was to volunteer on an organic farm known as Old Chapel Farm. Very nice family and other volunteers, I visited once more and we still keep in touch. If only didn't rain that much, but then again, it's not that worse than in the rest of the UK.
