Villahermosa - Parque Museo La Venta collection in photos: Olmec colossal heads and other monuments

Villahermosa, the capital of Tabasco State, is not the most beautiful city in Mexico, but there is an open-air museum that is very worth stopping for. The Parque Museo La Venta houses several of the Olmec colossal heads along with other items, and they are displayed in a beautiful setting. The main two other places where you can see Olmec heads are the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City and the Anthropology Museum of Xalapa. Museo La Venta also functions as a zoo, but luckily most of the animals are kept in one area away from the exhibition.

After passing the zoo, there is one designated circuit you must follow as shown on the map.
