Huacas de Moche (Huacas del Sol y de la Luna)

Also found on the outskirts of Trujillo, Huaca del Sol and Huaca de la Luna (Temple of the Sun and Temple of the Moon), were built by the Moche, a different culture than Chan Chan. These buildings are also adobe, but what makes them very different is that the decorations are coloured. Much of the site is still unexcavated, and some of the structures look like hills. There is also a quite nice museum but photography is forbidden inside. You can reach the site by colectivo if you find where it departs from, but a taxi wouldn't cost that much either, and on the way back it is easy to get the colectivo.
