Nagasaki - Love at first sight
I love port cities and also love cities that have many hills, and when they have both, it's just perfect. And Nagasaki is such a place, plus it has cute retro trams (they call them street cars). Of course, Nagasaki is famous for a very different reason, and you have to pay homage to this tragic event. But the city nicely rebuilt, and it is now a beautiful, modern, and lively place. I also found a hotel at a very good price in a very central location, near the JR Station, that was cheaper than the dormitory bed would have been in Fukuoka on the weekend. But it's not a "cheap hotel", it's high standard, and to my liking it has smoking rooms. Honestly, what else do you need?
