Fukuoka to Busan by ferry

There is a daily ferry service between Fukuoka (Hakata), Japan, and Busan, South Korea. It has different classes, and the cheapest fare (¥ 11,600 / GBP 61) costs about the same as a cheap flight between the two countries, so you won't save money by taking this route. However, it has a certain atmosphere to leave a country by sea and to arrive in another in one of its ports. The trip takes about 6 hours and you get a mattress in a room shared with several other people. (There are higher standard rooms and suites as well, but they cost significantly more.) From Fukuoka, the ferry departs at 12:30 and it arrives in Busan around 18:30. (I don't know the times of the other way around, but I was told the trip is at night which is much less convenient.) I'm happy I chose this trip, although sad to leave Japan. But hey, I'm headed to South Korea, a country where I have never been before!
