Guangzhou - Pearl River, places of worship, people and shopping streets

Again, I started my walk at the Pearl River, heading first to the Sacred Heart Cathedral to see it in daytime too. Then I visited other places of worship, including two Buddhist temples (Temple of the Five Immortals and the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees) and an old mosque (Huaisheng Mosque). I was surprised to see that these places are open for worshippers, religious oppression seems to be a Western propaganda. (Understandably, China won't tolarate sects that are against the government, such as Falun Gong or radical Salafi muslims.) After the religious places, it was nice to see how ordinary Chinese people spend their free time, playing, singing and dancing in the parks. The Japanese-style cosplay wirdos looked bizarre, but it again shows that China is much more tolerant than people think in the West. Then I explored some other pedestrian shopping streets, elegant and full of Western and local brand shops, and people. I know it exists elsewhere as well, but for me this was the first time I saw this digital advertising where the ad seems to get off the screen. I visited one more Buddhist temple (Big Buddha Temple) before heading home.
