Attractions around Abha
Just outside Abha, the Jebel Soudah region offers some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Saudi Arabia. As the official highest peak in the country, Jebel Soudah rises to over 3,000 meters above sea level, making it a perfect destination for hiking enthusiasts. The plateau’s edge provides spectacular panoramic views, where the rugged cliffs drop into deep valleys covered in mist, creating an awe-inspiring sight. The area’s terraced fields, cultivated by local farmers, add to the stunning scenery, showcasing centuries-old agricultural traditions.
Another great site outside Abha is Al Habala, a historical village dramatically built into a cliffside. Originally accessible only by rope ladders—hence its name, which means "The Rope"—this unique settlement is now reachable by a cable car that offers breathtaking aerial views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The only thing is, off-season the area is closed.
