Bukhara - A historic city with a fortress and other attractions
The city of Bukhara is smaller than Samarkand, but some of the Islamic architecture are just as monumental. And the number of old Islamic buildings - mosques, madrassas, tombs - is mind-boggling. Apart from Islamic architecture you'll find Jewish and Christian places of worship, lively markets, and the landmark fortress, also known as the Ark of Bukhara. In the museum inside the fortress, a display is dedicated to Hungarian turkologist and traveler, Ármin Vámbéry. And, sadly, Bukhara is the only place in Central Asia where I've seen camels.
