Yerevan, Armenia - Random photos
The centre of Yerevan is fairly big but it can be covered all on foot. It's lively and modern, with only a few historic buildings. Among them are a few old chrches and a beautiful Shia mosque. There are many pieces of street art all around the city, mostly sculptures of different types. The outskirts have a more Soviet feel, and you'll see a few nicely renovated Soviet-era cars. At the time of my visit, it was really hot and people flocked to the fountains in the parks to cool down. One night, there was a demonstration in support of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), and a separate parade by Armenians from Aleppo, Syria, who took part in an Armenian diaspora event in Yerevan.
