Astana (Nur-Sultan) - Day 3

Astana is a big, spread-out city and there were still many places I haven't seen. After taking a bus, I started my long walk at one of the city's grand mosques. You also find a huge monument, the Kazakh National University of the Arts and the Palace of Independence (both being renovated), the National Museum, and the pyramid-shaped Palace of Peace and Reconciliation in this area. Crossing the river and heading towards the centre, I passed the futuristic Library of the First President (closed for visitors), the Nazarbayev Center, the Arch of Triumph, the Botanical Garden, and the Astana Balet theatre, finishing my walk at the EXPO-2017 area. A fair was taking place at this last location, with a giant yurt, food stalls, market, performances and exhibitions. I took the bus again to another grand mosque, then rode back to Central Park where I had a nice meal at McDoner's (lol). From here, passing the Ailand amusement centre and the Kazakh national flag, I walked back to my hotel along the familiar route via Atatürk Park.
