Visiting Chichen Itzá from Valladolid

I was told the first colectivo from Valladolid to Chichen Itzá departs at 7 AM, but when I got to the garage (near the ADO bus station) some 10-15 minutes earlier, one was already about to leave with only one place left. So I managed to be on the first colectivo, and thus arrived at the archaeological site amongst the very first people. We had to wait some half an hour to get in, and in this time visitors were arriving steadily and cueing up behind us. When the gate finally opened, I headed straight to the main pyramid. There weren't many people yet, so that's how I managed to take the first few photos of it without anyone in the pictures. It's an amazing site, but the earlier you go the better the experience is.
