Metrocable, Medellín's cable car network

Not as extensive as the cable car network of La Paz in Bolivia, but Medellín also has 6 lines in the outer districts. Five of them to serve people who live in the poor neighbourhoods on the hills, and one is for tourists who want to visit Arví Park, a nature preserve. The cable car lines are connected to the metro and tram network and you can change without validating an extra trip on your Metro Card, except the tourist line which starts at the end of one of the communal lines and costs more than an ordinary ride.

Line J

This line starts from San Javier metro station, the last stop on line B. This is also where you have to get off if you want to visit Comuna 13, a Medellín ghetto turned tourist attraction.

Line K

This line starts from the Acevedo station of the metro line A, and this is the one that connects to the tourist cable car line.

Line L

This is the tourist cable car line to Arví Park, starting from the last station of the cable car line K. It doesn't have any stops along the way. You can use a Metro Card, but it costs more than an ordinary ride.

Line P

This line also starts from the Acevedo station of the metro line A, just as line K, but in the opposite direction.

Line M

This line is connected to the tram line T-A, and starts from the Miraflores stop. You have to get out of the tram stop to change to the cable car, but no money will be taken off your Metro Card.

Line H

This line is also on the tram line T-A, just like cable car line M, but it starts from its final stop, Oriente.
