Minca - A laid-back tourist village in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta

Minca is a tiny village in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, a lush mountain range dominating this part of the Caribbean coast. It is the highest mountain in the world that stands next to a sea, with its peak covered with snow. So the main reason to visit Minca is to do some hikes to its viewpoints and waterfalls, but the village itself is very pleasant, too. It is an hour or so away from the city of Santa Marta.
