Cachanga - the Peruvian version of lángos (langosh)
Lángos (langosh) is a very popular Hungarian food and Hungarians think it is only known in Hungary. But that's not the case! Called cachanga, it is also available in Peru as I discovered in Barranca. It is made of a very soft dough ball flattened and fried in oil. It looks the same, tastes the same, the only difference is that in Hungary savoury toppings are added such as sour cream and cheese, while in Peru a sweet sauce.
