Cat Ba Bay and Ha Long Bay

Cat Ba Bay and nearby Ha Long Bay form one of Southeast Asia’s most famous coastal landscapes, known for their thousands of limestone karst islands rising dramatically from the sea. The area combines calm bays, hidden coves, floating fishing villages, jungle-covered islands, and constantly changing light and mist that create a highly atmospheric setting. While Ha Long Bay is internationally famous and heavily visited, the waters around Cat Ba Island feel quieter and more relaxed, offering a similar landscape of cliffs and islands with fewer crowds. Cruises, ferries, and small boats move through the maze-like scenery, making the bays one of Vietnam’s most iconic natural destinations.
