Day 2 - Exploring the Hpa-An area
Since all the attractions are really far apart, the best way to see them is to rent a scooter which I did. I never rode a scooter or a motorbike in my life, so I was a bit anxious at first, but it all turned out well and I enjoyed riding around as much as seeing the actual sights. Traffic is not too bad in Hpa-An, so it wasn't an overwhelming experience and I managed to do a lot in a single day.
Kyak Ka Lat Pagoda
Lost in the rice fields
I wanted to get to somewhere, but took the wrong way and ended up in the ricefields where the road ended. There was a small building there and local rice farmers were just preparing to have lunch, and they called me in and invited to eat with them. This was a very nice experience.

Longnya spring, pool and hill
This place is not mentioned in any of the tourist information, but I spotted it on the first day when we came to Hpa-An and so I returned. It's nothing special, but there is a pool if someone wants to go for a swim, and a hill with nice views.

Saddan cave and secret lake
I'm not a big fan of caves, but am very happy I visited this one. The cave itself is nice, quite big, and as a surprise the path lead to a secret lake on the other end. Here, you can take a boat and go back to the starting point through a little natural tunnel through the limestone hill.

Kaw Ka Taung cave and hill
I wasn't too interested in the cave itself, didn't go in, but there is a hill above it with great views.

Kan Thar Yar lake with the view of Zwegabin
I wanted to visit another place, Mount Taung Wine, and actually started riding towards it, but it was getting dark so I called it off. Instead, for the sunset I returned to Kan Thar Yar lake to have a look at Mount Zwegabin and Kyar Inn Hill, standing next to each other. The view wasn't spectacular, but was nice. There is a night market on the northern shore of the lake, it's very popular with locals and visitors.
