Bedouin wedding - St Catherine, Sinai

Ramadan was the last of the sons of Rahmat Musa Abu Ghalaba to marry, but finally the long-awaited event took place. It was in the same arisha where Yousef and Shaban got married some years earlier. Like on those occasions, or even more so, the big tented area was packed. Bedouin tribal leaders and Egyptian officials attended, as well as a big number of locals and Bedouin from further afield. Bedouin weddings involve long waits, broken by prayers and meals at the appropriate times. Meals, consisting of jirisha for breakfast and rice with meat and bread for lunch, were not photographed this time, only the crowd and the groom of course. Alf mabruk, Ramadan!
