Yangshuo and Kunming

After I returned from Hong Kong to Guangzhou, one more of the original four left, taking the train back to Budapest, so only two of us remained. We sold our return tickets and decided to carry on. Then we met another two Hungarians who decided to join us. We found a cheap ticket from Kunming to Thailand, but first we had to get to Kunming. So now four again, we took an overnight boat up the Xi river then got in a bus and rode through lush countryside until we reached Yangshuo. Unfortunately it was rainy and overcast, but we still climbed one of the sugar hills. Next day we went to Guilin, but didn't stay long - in this bad weather there was no point. So we took a train to Kunming, a not too attractive town, but visited the Stone Forest nearby which is beautiful. From Kunming we flew to Bangkok, and our trip in China came to an end.

Barge on the Xi river, photographed from our ship.

View of Yangshuo from one of the hills.

Kids in Kunming. They all had split trousers so they could relieve themselves without wasting time.

A walk in the Stone Forest. Luckily there was time to get away from the crowds a bit.
