Montserrat
The Montserrat Monastery, which sits high up in the mountain, is a major pilgrimage site and home to a community of Benedictine monks. It can be reached by car, train, cable car and foot. In addition to the main monastery, there are several smaller chapels and hermitages scattered throughout the mountain. The towering rock formations of Montserrat, which are shaped by thousands of years of erosion, are a unique geological wonder and a popular destination for hikers and climbers. Visitors to Montserrat can enjoy breathtaking vistas of the surrounding landscape from various viewpoints and hiking trails.
