Refugee crisis Budapest - 2015
Friday with a Happy Ending in a few words
People locked in overcrowded station, TV crews, football hooligans throwing firecrackers on families then saved by the police, peaceful demonstration, nationalist provocators ignored, more police, children entertained by volunteers, announcement at night that Austria lets in refugees, buses come to take them, people rush to buses leaving an almost deserted station behind. Let's hope it's a happy ending for these families, but we shouldn't forget that if there is no will to stop the wars in the Middle East and elswhere people will keep fleeing their countries.
Many of those who missed the buses set off on foot to Austria, which is some 200 kms away. They hope they will be picked up by buses, but are determined to walk the distance if necessary. Rahla Saeeda!
